It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Jaryd at the young age of 28. Jaryd was born in Etobicoke to parents Carolyn and Len. He was raised in Toronto and enjoyed his years exploring the city. He found solace living in the beauty of the Parry Sound area over the years. After Jaryd graduated from high school, he studied marketing at George Brown College. He then went on to study becoming a guitar technician. While he enjoyed the formal learning, Jaryd’s biggest passion was his music. He dedicated his spare time to playing guitar, refining his skills, and writing songs. Having always found peace in the outdoors, Jaryd moved from the busy city to the beauty of Georgian Bay. From the forest and the lake, he found great inspiration. Jaryd loved animals, in particular his love for cats was well known and documented. He found so much comfort and joy from not just his own cat, but everyone’s around him. This is reflective of his big heart and caring nature.
When wasn’t writing music or playing his guitar, Jaryd enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing video games, board games, or card games. Jaryd was regarded as a reliable wing man, hype man, and emcee – he was always ready for a party and could brighten your mood instantly. Jaryd was a thoughtful person who would light up any room he entered. When Jaryd walked in the door, his energy was palpable. He had a certain spark about him. He was outgoing, friendly, and vibrant. His fantastic sense of humor made for hours of laughter and fun. In the last few years, Jaryd thrived as an uncle, looking forward to the times he spent with his nieces and thoroughly spoiling them with his playful nature. Jaryd’s passing leaves a large hole in the hearts of all those his light touched, and we mourn his incredible spirit.
He will be forever mourned by his mother Carolyn, and step-father Brad; his father Len, and step-mother Melissa; his sister Alyssa, and step-siblings Will and Kadie (wife) and Liz and Dylan (husband); his nieces Autumn, Willow and Rory; his grandmother Angela and Brian (husband); his aunts Laura, Brenda, Karen, Kerrie, Gloria, Alyssa and Jill; his uncles Barry, Dale, Dave, Mike, and Derrick; his cousins Alyxzander, Ashley, April, Samantha, Rebecca, Denver, Spencer, Kennedi, Charles, Grace, and Samuel; and his friends Kira, Austen, Matt and Olivia. Jaryd’s bereaved family and friends will honour him by carrying forth his light. Through them, Jaryd’s spirit will shine on.
Please join us in honouring Jaryd. A Celebration of Life will follow for all at the Carling Community Centre, 2 West Carling Bay Road, Nobel, on July 8th from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Remembrances begin at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Jack.org. – a youth advocacy group for mental health.
Jaryd, may you rest easy on the wings of eternity. You are deeply loved and will be forever in our hearts.
