Van DER HOOFT, Fred - In loving memory of Fred Van Der Hooft 76 Years Friday, April 29th, 2011 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Beloved father of Mike (Rita), Brad (Nicky), Susan Francoeur (Dave Dion), Keith (Aviril), Tim, Greg, Cheryl predeceased (Harold Morin predeceased), and stepchildren Kathy and “J.J.“ Foisey. Cherished grandfather of Natasha (James), Danny (Katreena), Alex, Melissa (Mike), Brandon (Stacy), Vanessa (Mike), Jennifer (Donny), Michelle (David), Claudia, Chelsea, Daniel, Shirley, Christopher, and great grandchildren Johnny, Kaydan, Carley, Cameron and Logan. Dear son of Yohannes and Magdalena Van Der Hooft. Dear brother of Len (Mayse), Bill (Lori) and Joe predeceased (Ilene). Fred retired in 1990 from Falconbridge Nickel Mine with 30 years of Service. He was an outstanding and dedicated volunteer. He was a Past President, Past Governor, 12 years the Co- chair of the Christmas Telethon and a Melvin Jones Fellow with the Lions Club. Fred served as a councilor in Nickel Center as well as with the volunteer Fire Department. He provided leadership as the chairman of the Garson Food Bank. Fred lived his life to the Lions motto “to serve“. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Sudbury Regional Hospital for their wonderful care and support. Funeral Visitation in the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch Street SUNDAY, May 1st, 2011 2 P.M. to 6 P.M. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.
