VINCENT (née FOREST), Noëlla - 1925- 2011 - C'est entourée de ses filles que Noëlla Vincent s'est éteinte paisiblement dans sa chambre au Centre de santé Perly- Rideau d'Ottawa, le 18 mai. Elle était âgée de 85 ans. Elle rejoint ainsi son mari, Réal qui l'a quittée en juillet dernier. Noëlla est née à Verner, Ontario, quatrième de neuf enfants. Elle a fait ses études primaires à l'école du village, pour ensuite terminer son secondaire au pensionnat Notre Dame de Lourdes de Sturgeon Falls. Désireuse de devenir enseignante, elle se dirige à l'École normale d'Ottawa. Son brevet d'enseignement en main, elle retourne dans sa terre natale pour prendre la direction d'une petite école de rang o elle enseigne, avec une collègue, tous les niveaux et o elle vit pendant l'année scolaire. Deux ans plus tard, elle se retrouve à l'école de Verner, titulaire de la 7e année. Après son mariage à Réal Vincent, natif de Lavigne, elle renoue avec l'enseignement à Sudbury o son mari travaille comme horloger. Elle et Réal auront sept filles, Carmen, Nicole, Danielle, Joanne, Lise, Andrée et Roberte. Noëlla devra bien entendu quitter l'enseignement à plusieurs reprises pour s'occuper d'elles. Les filles grandies, Noëlla reprendra l'enseignement dans plusieurs écoles de la région pour terminer sa carrière comme bibliothécaire et enseignante spécialisée, à l'École St-Dominique de Sudbury. À sa retraite, elle et Réal, emménagent sur les rives du lac Nipissing, dans leur magnifique maison qu'ils avaient amoureusement bâtie au fil des années. Pendant cette période ils voyagent beaucoup et passent plusieurs hivers en Floride. Ils prendront beaucoup de plaisir aussi à gâter leur 15 petits enfants et leur 3 arrières petits enfants. Leur état de santé les obligera à quitter leur coin de pays tant aimé pour s'établir dans une maison de retraite à Ottawa, plus près de leurs filles. Une célébration de la vie de Noëlla aura lieu à la COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE de Sudbury, 222 du boulevard Lasalle, le mercredi 25 mai. La famille recevra parents et amis dès 13h; la célébration débutera à 15h30. Une réception suivra à la salle Jubilee, 195 rue Applegrove. Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Fondation du Centre de santé Perly Rideau d'Ottawa ou à un organisme de bienfaisance de votre choix, seraient appréciés. VINCENT (née FOREST), Noëlla - 1925- 2011 - Noëlla Vincent (85) passed away peacefully at The Perly and Rideau Veteran's Health Center in Ottawa on Wednesday, May 18, in the comforting presence of her daughters. She was pre- deceased by her husband, Réal, in July of last year. Noëlla was born in Verner, Ontario the fourth of nine children. She completed her secondary education at the Pensionnat Notre Dame de Lourdes in Sturgeon Falls. Drawn to the teaching profession, she obtained her training in Ottawa and returned to the Nipissing region where she was assigned to a two-room school; she and a collegue taught all levels and even lived in the school. After two years she was given a new assignment to teach grade 7 at the Verner Elementary School. She married Réal Vincent in July of 1950 and settled in Sudbury where Réal worked as a watchmaker. Having and caring for seven daughters (Carmen, Nicole, Danielle, Joanne, Lise, Andrée and Roberte) made it necessary for Noëlla to forego teaching on numerous occasions. She did return to her profession, teaching in many different French language schools in the area and finishing her career as librarian and special education teacher at École St-Dominique. Upon retirement, Noëlla and Réal moved into their newly completed house on Lake Nipissing, which they had transformed over time from a rustic cottage. For many years, her extended family considered this their second home. Noëlla and Réal took advantage of their free time to travel, winter in Florida, and spoil their fifteen grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Their advancing years and failing health forced them to leave their beloved home and enter a retirement residence in Ottawa, closer to their daughters. A celebration of Noëlla's life will take place at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Ontario. Visitation will begin at 1pm and the celebration at 3:30 pm. A reception will follow at the Jubilee Hall, 195 Applegrove Street, Sudbury.
