WABEGIJIG, Marvin Michael In loving memory of Marvin Michael Wabegijig, who passed away peacefully at the Ottawa, General Hospital on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the age of 68 years. Beloved husband of Marcella (Busawa) predeceased of the Sagamok Anishinabek Nation. Loving father of Cecelia Wabegijig. Dear grandfather of Dillan Wabegijig. Marvin was a member of the Whitefish Lake First Nation. Loving son of Patrick Wabegijig (Wikwemikong Unceded Nation) and Cecilia (Naponse of the Whitefish Lake First Nation), both predeceased. Beloved brother of Patrick, Carol (Nadjiwon, husband Rolland), Sandra (partner Richard Cywink) and predeceased by brothers Arnold, Gary, Douglas and Russell. Uncle Marvin (aka The Godfather, Durango, Big M) will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The extended family was important in the life of Marvin. Cecelia would like to thank the many extended family members who cared for him during his illness, with a special miigwetch to Sharon Wabegijig. Marvin was noted for his kindness, great sense of humor filled with many famous one liners, and his love of sports. Marvin enjoyed golfing and participated in numerous tournaments, hockey, baseball, fishing, hunting, reading, and enjoyed commentaries about life. He also had a deep respect for the land, water and medicines of Mother Earth. He served in the Canadian army, worked as an Ironworker for 35 + years and belonged to the Ironworker Local Union 721. Marvin will never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts forever.Resting at Sagamok Anishinabek Nation on Wednesday, May 19th, 2010 after 5 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Raphael Parish in Sagamok on Friday, May 21st, 2010 at 11am Burial at the Sagamok Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be given to the Sudbury Regional Cancer Center. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home, Sudbury, Ontario.
