WALF, Leszek Rudolf - In Loving Memory of Leszek Rudolf Walf, 91 years, Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of Janina Walf (Krawczyk) of Sudbury. Loving father to Janet White (husband Reg) of Lively and Christina “Krysia“ Bedoya (husband Jorge) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Angie Orser (husband Darryl) of Lively, Jason White (wife Loralie) of Lively, Andres, Mateo and Alina Bedoya of Sudbury. Dear great- grandfather of Simon and Hailey Orser of Lively and Taylor White of Lively. Son of Hermina and Rudolf Walz both predeceased. Brother of Zdzislaw and Krystyna both predeceased and half sister Marysia of Wroclaw. Loving cousin to Maryla Wojcikowska of Krakow Poland. Leszek was born in Krakow, Poland. He survived World War II as a soldier then worked in Belgium and Germany before immigrating to Sudbury in 1951. He worked at Vale (then INCO) from 1952-1984 as a miner and hoistman. He was a proud member of the Polish community, St. Casimir's Parish and the Sudbury Polish Combatants Association, Branch #24. Leszek was an avid gardener who enjoyed picking blueberries and doing handy work. He will be missed by his friends and extended family in Wroclaw and Krakow, Poland. Special thanks to Dr. Roch, Nurse Beverly Marsh and Lori Paradis and Staff at St. Gabriel's Villa. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Parish Prayers 7:30pm Thursday (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Thursday). Funeral Mass in St. Casimir's Church, 210 Paris St., Sudbury, Friday, May 25th, 2012 at 10am. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
