Beverly Ann Weaver

March 29, 1942 – March 29, 2024

Beverly (Bev) Ann Weaver passed away on March 29th, 2024, on her 82nd birthday surrounded by her children while bravely battling cancer. She was born March 29th, 1942, in Sudbury, Ontario. Daughter of Cecil and Gladys Burton (predeceased). Beloved sister of Brian (wife Ginny) (Sandra predeceased), Cecil (wife Paulette) and Jim (wife Anne-Marie). She is survived by her loving children Cathy (partner Bill), Blaine (wife Julie), Mick (wife Juliana), her grandchildren Blair, Austin (Jessica), Bayden and Brianna-Aspen. Also, by her former spouse of 32 years Ernie Weaver.

Bev valued family and nature, virtues handed down by her parents and their creation of cherished family memories at their summer camp on Fairbank Lake. A caring, compassionate soul, she put her family, and friends needs above her own. She loved her entire family, despite their quirks. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.

She built a home full of love and memories on Long Lake for over forty years and it remained one of her favorite places until the end. She loved boat rides, watching her children and grandchildren enjoy the beach and talking anyone into steering the canoe for her to enjoy a quiet paddle. She loved reading and her quiet time alone, fishing with her family, cross-country skiing, curling, golfing, and traveling the world with her friends. She loathed snowmobiling and alpine skiing but powered through it to enjoy time with her family on many weekend excursions and those memories will live on with them.

The family would like to extend their heart-felt gratitude to the health care professionals in palliative care at Health Sciences North for their diligent, compassionate care during her final days surrounded by her family. As per Bev’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation. Donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation.
