WHALEN, Jerome Thomas - In loving memory of Jerome Thomas Whalen 81 years that passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Saturday, December 22nd, 2012 at Health Sciences North with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of the late Caroline (nee Kampman) and dear father of Michael Barry of Sudbury, David Jerome (Roxanne) of Garson, Patrick John (Marisa) of Whitby, Leah Olive (Renald) Richer of London and Kelly Marie (Robert) Nixon of Burlington. Loving grandfather of Kari-Lyn, Jenna-Lea, Raphael, Gabriel and Elijah. Dear brother of Ellard Whalen of Surrey B.C. and Phyllis (Raymond) Leclair of Smith Falls. Jerome is also predeceased by his sisters Kathleen, Kaye, Eileen and by his brothers Gerry, Jimmy and Desmond. Jerome was a supervisor with INCO, retiring in 1971. He was an avid gardener and loved his flowers. Jerome loved cooking and was a master at food preserving during the fall season. The best times of his life were always with his family. His wit was enjoyed by all that knew him. Special thanks to Drs. Centis, Smith, Ishak and Aniol, and all the nurses and staff at the hospital who cared for him over the course of his illness.
