WILSON, John “Jack“ Smith - Jack Wilson of Espanola, Ontario passed away peacefully at Finlandia Hoivakoti Nursing Home in Sudbury, Ontario, February 15, 2012 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Lynne (nee Cronin). Loving father of Kathy (Mrs. Raymond Pilon), Kim (Mrs. Robert Penner), and Kari (Mrs. Jay Mitroff) all of Espanola, Ontario. Very dear grandfather of Devin and Kelsey Pilon, Nathaniel, Jeremy & Michael Penner, and Joshua & Alexa Mitroff). Dear son of the late John & Thelma (Smith) Wilson. Dear brother of Elizabeth (Mrs. William Steele) of Quesnel, British Columbia and Deanna (Mrs. Peter Stockdill) of Parksville, British Columbia. Predeceased by his brother Garvin (1952). Dear brother-in-law of Gerald Cronin, Pat (Mrs. Harry Boll), and Nicki (Mrs. Grant Moffat). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families. Jack was born April 25, 1936 in Sudbury, Ontario. As a young boy, Jack and his family moved from Copper Cliff to Espanola. Jack completed his education at EHS and then entered the work force at the KVP Pulp & Paper Mill, apprenticing in the field of Instrumentation. He accepted a Staff position as a Mechanical Sulphate Supervisor at E.B.Eddy, retiring in 1995 after 41 years of service. Jack served as Espanola Jaycees President, worked in both Provincial & Federal Politics as well as serving several years as a Councillor of the Town of Espanola. Jack was a very gifted & natural athlete excelling in baseball and hockey (Espanola K-Vee's Ontario “B“ Champions). As well he had a great love of music, gardening and sailing. Jack enjoyed his retirement especially time spent at their beloved cottage at Horseshoe Lake with family & friends. He enjoyed many special times with all his precious grandchildren. Jack was a devout Christian who always lived his faith be it at home, at work, at his church or in the community. Special thanks to Dr. Bakker and all the very dedicated and caring Nursing Staff in Manty Wing at Finlandia Hoivakoti. There are not enough words to convey our heartfelt thanks to Jack's “Angels“ Resting at the BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME in Espanola, Friday, February 17th, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Jude Parish, Espanola, Ontario on Saturday, February 18th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Gilles Grandmont officiating. Interment in the Espanola Cemetery. If so desired Memorial tributes may be made to Finlandia Nursing Home, St. Jude Memorial Fund, Community Living of Greater Sudbury, or to the charity of your choice.
