In Loving Memory of Alexander Stewart Wyper May 25th, 1930 – May 25, 2010. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alex Wyper, beloved husband of Betty (Longlade). Dearly loved father of Linda DeRusha (Haig), Lorna Ansamaa (Lauri), Sara Wyper (Cary Ward) and Sandy D’Amour (Roy Gaal). Cherished Papa of Jamie Tessier (Christina White), Matthew DeRusha and Andrea D'Amour. Special great grandfather of Calum Alexander. Dear step-father of Karen Galipeau (Charles), Terry Longlade, Catherine Deshevy (Dan), Alan Longlade, John Longlade (Lina) and Neil Longlade (Di). Step-grandfather of Sarah Bertin (Jason) and their children Hannah, Chase and Dylan, Blair Deshevy, Ryan Longlade, Brittany Deshevy and her daughter Taylor, Sarah, Thomas, Matthew and Mario Longario. Also survived by his brother Ian Wyper (Elizabeth) and brother-in-law Bill Campbell (Martha) and their families of Scotland. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Wyper, his brother Robert and his sisters Margaret, Marion and Mary. Alex was born in Ardrie, Scotland on May 25th, 1930. In 1960 brought his family to Canada, settling in Levack and later in Sudbury. He was a police officer with the Copper Cliff Police and later the Sudbury Regional Police. He was a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. In 2004 he married Betty Longlade. During their time together, Betty and Alex travelled, danced, celebrated with their new large family and enjoyed the company of a close group of friends. Alex was an accomplished gardener, carpenter, cake decorator and choclatier, but it was bird carving that became his passion. His family and friends have been blessed with his beautiful creations that will be treasured forever. The family respectfully declines flowers. In lieu of donations, please do a good deed for someone, live well and treasure your loved ones. A Celebration of his Life will be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch St., Sudbury Friday, May 28th, 2010 at 11 a.m. Cremation. (Friends may gather in the Chapel after 10:45 a.m. Friday)
