YELLINA, Antonio “Tony“ - In loving memory of Antonio “Tony“ Yellina. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Antonio with his family at his side at Health Sciences North on March 27, 2013. He was born on April 9, 1914 in the village of Yellina, Italy to Tommaso Yellina and Maria Zorza (both Predeceased) Beloved husband of Marcella (predeceased 2008). Loving father of Lydia Stopar (Emilio), Lorenzo of Sudbury and Dario (Patricia) of Bracebridge. Dear brother of Giovanni, Giuseppe, Augusto, Angelina, Antonia, Giuseppina all predeceased. Survived by Maria from Italy and many nieces and nephews from Italy and Belgium. Proud Nonno of Frank (Anna), Michael (Gaetanne), Terra (Doug), Curtis (Kim) and Laura (Robbie). Cherished Bisnonno to Dylan, Leandra, Amelia and Ava. Antonio and family immigrated to Canada in 1951 and settled in Sudbury. Tony enjoyed outdoor activities, gardening, and tending to his fruit trees, hunting and the family cottage on Manitoulin Island. In his younger years he also enjoyed travelling. Thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses and all other staff at Health Sciences North for their compassion and great care. Special thanks to Dr. A. Vance for his home visits. A warm thank you to the staff from Bayshore for their excellent care for Tony over the last 10 years. We also greatly appreciated that Lucia Biondi provided weekly Eucharist to Antonio. We were truly blessed that dad was an important part of our lives for such a long time. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent Street at Hazel Sunday March 31, 2013. Friends may call from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Prayers 7:30pm Sunday. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church 9 Walford Drive Monday April 1st, 2013 at 10am. Entombment in Civic Mausoleum. Donations to Health Sciences North Cardiac Unit or Inner City Home would be appreciated.
