With love in our hearts and tears in our eyes we announce the peaceful passing of Alex, 81 years at Pioneer Manor on Saturday, August 12, 2023, following a frustrating battle with lewey body dementia.

He was predeceased by his father Mike, step-mother Olga and his birth mother Helen, his in-laws Bill and Jessie Frizell and his cousin Dennis (Joan). Beloved husband of Joan (Frizell) for 60 years. Loving father of Dave (Heather), Lori Bot (Jim) and Mike (Tara). Cherished grandpa of Jennifer, Kevin, Christopher, Claudia, Carissa, Jayden and Charla. He will be remembered by Cohen and Kaden. Brother of Ruth Nelson (Eddie, predeceased) and brother-in-law to Marion Durigon (Gino), Barb Frizell, Beverly Lawson (predeceased) and Bill Frizell. God parent to Kevin Carvell and Vicki Ann Morrissey. Remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially by Jim and Lorraine Carvell.

Alex was an electrician at INCO retiring in 1993 with 30 years of service. His hobby was restoring vehicles. He has been a member of the Historical Automobile Society for 45 years and a vendor at Barrie Automotive Flea Market.

Sincere thanks to all staff at Pioneer Manor (Cedar) for the quality of care Alex received while a resident there, with a special thank you for the care and compassion shown to Alex and his family during his final days. Dementia did not take away his sense of humour, most of the staff can relate to that.
