ZULIANI, Anita

January 7, 2013 91

ZULIANI, Anita - The family announces with sorrow the peaceful passing of Anita Zuliani (nee Vitali) on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the age of 91 surrounded by her family at Health Sciences North. Loving daughter of Adolfo and Stella Vitali. Beloved wife of Gino Zuliani for over 71 years. Devoted mother of Michael (Loraine), Douglas (Janet), Claire (Mark Donnelly) and Peter (Tiina Wainman). Cherished grandmother of Michelle, Gregory, and Christopher Zuliani, Nicole, Jocelyn, David, Caroline, and Christopher Donnelly, Jennifer, Danielle, Nicole, Jared, Erik and Michael. Born and raised in the town of Copper Cliff, Anita was the oldest of four children with siblings Clara (predeceased at age 10), Jack (predeceased) and Elena. In the midst of the Second World War, Anita met her husband Gino and was married at age 19, living in a one-bedroom apartment in the family home until their third child was born, before they built their own home on Southview Drive in Sudbury. As one of the founding members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Anita was an active member of the Catholic Women's League. She also volunteered her time in the Tuck Shop at the Sudbury General Hospital and eventually ran the shop for many years. A woman of simple means, great intellect and a strong faith, Anita raised her family to uphold the values she held so dear. Wanting her children to have opportunities in life, she ensured that they were well- educated and instilled with a love of learning. While her children were her greatest pride, her grandchildren were her greatest joy, always tender, loving and supportive. She will be missed by all. Arrangements entrusted to the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME. Friends may gather for a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 39 Walford Rd., Sudbury, on Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 10 am, to be followed by a luncheon in the parish hall. All are welcome to attend. Donations to St. Patrick's Church or Covenant House of Toronto, a shelter for homeless youth, would be appreciated.
