ZUPAN, Andrej - In loving memory of Andrej Zupan, 84 years, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer he died peacefully Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Hedvika (nee Pukl) Zupan. Loving father of Andy (wife Lynn) and Barbara Hurtubise (husband Parish). Cherished grandfather of Ashlee, Andie, and Thomas. Dear son of Janez and Barbara (nee Meglic) Zupan predeceased. Dear brother of Antonita Rozman (husband Juri), Joze (wife Helena) and predeceased by Janez, Ivanka and Anton. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Slovenija, Andrej came to Canada in 1957, moving to Sudbury in 1959. He returned to Slovenija in 1963 to marry Hedvika (Pukl). A longtime Minnow Lake resident, he had been a diesel mechanic at INCO, retiring in 1988 with 27 years service. He was passionate about his cottage on Trout Lake where he celebrated 50 years of happy times and great enjoyment with three generations of family. Resting at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. (Friends may call 7-9pm Tuesday and after 10:30am Wednesday). Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 at 11:30am. Cremation with entombment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation (Cancer Center) would be appreciated.
