Environment Canada has issued freezing rain warnings for southwestern Ontario, while it says parts of the Greater Toronto Area can expect a "messy mix" of snow and ice pellets.
The agency says freezing rain and wind gusts of up to 70 km/h Monday in parts of southwestern Ontario, including London and Sarnia, could lead to power outages.
The latest bout of winter weather comes after last week's storm knocked out power to thousands of people in southwestern Ontario and dumped about 17 centimetres of snow on Toronto.
A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Toronto with the forecast calling for strong winds and between five and 10 centimetres of snow beginning late Monday and ending by early Tuesday morning.
Environment Canada says parts of the York, Peel, Durham and Halton regions could see a "messy mix" of winter weather, with periods of snow and ice pellets Monday afternoon and evening, with a risk of freezing drizzle into early Tuesday morning.
The agency says the tail end of the Monday evening commute could be affected and travel could be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.
