Police investigate shooting that left 25-year-old man dead in Mississauga, Ont.

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Police west of Toronto say they're investigating Peel Region's seventh homicide of the year after a shooting victim died in hospital.

Peel Regional Police say the incident happened on Monday at around 9:30 p.m.

Officers responded to a call for a shooting at a home in Mississauga, Ont. and found 25-year-old Abdifatah Salah suffering from a gunshot wound.

Investigators said Wednesday that Salah died of his injuries and the homicide bureau is now handling the case.

Police did not immediately provide a suspect description.

They're asking anyone with information about the incident to contact police.
