Police investigating alleged puppy theft attempt in Township of King

BARRIE, Ont. — Police are seeking information related to an alleged puppy theft attempt north of Toronto.

York Regional Police say a woman from Barrie, Ont., had arranged to meet potential puppy buyers in a parking lot in the Township of King on Wednesday. 

She had sold one of two puppies, when two men in a white Honda Civic approached her.

Police allege one of the suspects assaulted the woman.

They also grabbed the puppy in its carrier. 

The victim chased the suspects as they fled and police say they threw the puppy out the window before driving away.
