911 hang up calls increase

The Greater Sudbury Police Service has had an increase in 911 hang up calls recently.

The calls often occur because a member of the public has misdialed, stated a news release. Police are reminding the public that the simplest resolution is to tell the 911 operator that the call was dialed in error.

All hang up 911 calls must be called back by the dispatcher, which is time consuming, continued the release.
