Accused stunt drivers nabbed on Skead Rd., Hwy. 69

Provincial police say two stunt drivers were recently nabbed on area roads.

A 41-year-old driver from Sudbury has been charged after being caught speeding on Skead Road, said the West Nipissing OPP.

Police conducted a traffic stop on April 18 and pulled over a vehicle that was traveling more than 50 km/hour over the posted speed limit.

The driver was charged with race a motor vehicle, and was issued a seven-day driver’s licence suspension and their vehicle was impounded.

The driver was released on a provincial summons and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 15.

In the second instance, the West Nipissing OPP pulled over a vehicle on Highway 69 in Servos Township, in the District of Sudbury, at 10:45 p.m. April 26.

The vehicle was travelling more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.

A 26-year-old from Brooklin, Ont. was charged with race a motor vehicle. The driver was issued a seven day driver's licence suspension and their vehicle was impounded.

The accused was released on provincial summons and is scheduled to appear in Sudbury court June 15.
