It would've been fascinating to be listen in to the conversation when Greater Sudbury Police called a woman they believe robbed a Lasalle Boulevard Mac's convenience store Monday night.

At around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, police report a short woman walked into the Mac's at the east end of Lasalle, grabbed some food from the shelves and walked to the cash.

Then, she flashed a knife and walked out.

Naturally, GSPS were called. Officers, as well as the K9 unit, responded. The dog did pick up a scent and led officers in the direction the woman apparently walked.

While the dog eventually lost the scent, it led officers to an area where they were able to get video surveillance footage, which in turn led to the police identifying a potential suspect — a 19-year-old woman from Sudbury.

GSPS even managed to get a phone number for her. They called her up and she agreed to turn herself into police, which she did this morning, showing up at the downtown headquarters, where she was promptly taken into custody.

The woman, whose name hasn't been released, is charged with one count of robbery with a weapon.
