Greater Sudbury Police arrested a man this afternoon near the downtown Sudbury Transit terminal following a stabbing.

Police received a call about the incident at around 1:40 p.m. on April 27.

Two men were involved in the incident and one man stabbed the other in the leg.

"It's not known as of this time whether this was a random occurrence or if the suspect and victim know each other," said Staff Sgt. Peter Orsino.

The victim was transported to Health Sciences North with minor injuries.

The suspect was arrested at the scene of the incident and is now in police custody.

"He was arrested for the stabbing and the Criminal Investigations Division has taken over this situation," said Orsino.
