Arrest made in College St. stabbing

Greater Sudbury Police have charged 38-year-old Vlado Lagundzija with attempted murder in relation to a stabbing Jan. 21 on College St.

According to police, the accused and victim got into a dispute about a cell phone. The accused subsequently attended 283 College St., where he located the victim and stabbed him repeatedly.

A 22-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds including a punctured lung. The victim underwent emergency surgery, is expected to survive and is recovering in hospital.

Police say the vicitm and the accused are known to each other. The accused remains in custody and has been charged with attempt to commit murder and two counts of breach of probation.
