Arrests made in Minnow Lake home invasion

Two men have been arrested by Greater Sudbury police in connection with an early morning home invasion in the Minnow Lake area May 23.

Two men have been arrested by Greater Sudbury police in connection with an early morning home invasion in the Minnow Lake area May 23.

According to police, the two accused entered the home of an senior citizen at approximately 4 am, threatening the man with an edged weapon and tying him up at the wrists and ankles.

The suspects left the house in the victim's car with an undisclosed amount of cash and goods, including a watch and blank cheques.

While investigating the area, police spotted the stolen vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu, near Second Ave. and arrested one of the suspects at the scene. The second suspect was arrested a short time later with the help of the canine unit.

All of the money and stolen items were returned.

A 18-year-old and a 17-year-old have both been charged with a number of robbery and weapons charges.
