A vicious attack took place near Lloyd St. Friday night around 11 pm when three people walking in the area were approached and assaulted by another group of people.
According to police, the victims were repeatedly punched in the head and hit with beer bottles, resulting in head and facial injuries. During the assault, one of the victims had her purse stolen as the group fled the scene.
Greater Sudbury Police responded to the attack and with the help of the canine unit, three males and one woman were later arrested on Louis St. Two of the attackers were 18 years of age, and the other two can't be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
On Jan. 23, police issued a release saying two more people have also been arrested and charged in relation to this incident.
