A mentally disabled woman born in Sudbury is one of the 27 people Robert Pickton, a B.C. pig farmer is charged with killing.

Angela Jardine has been missing since November 1998. She was born in Sudbury in June 1971 and was 28 at the time of her disappearance.
Jardine?s DNA was found in 2002 at the Port Coquitlam farm owned by Pickton.
Jardine was mentally challenged and had the capacity of an 11-year-old. Her family tried for years to help her, but the young woman continually ran away to Vancouver?s seedy Eastside. She has lived in the area for eight years.
He was originally charged with 15 murders. Picton was charged with 12 additional murders including Jardine?s on Wednesday.
Most of the women Pickton is charged with killing were prostitutes or drug addicts.
Jardine?s parents moved from the Sudbury area to Sparwood, B.C., in 1982. They have established a website in her daughter?s memory: www. vanishedvoices.com.
