Update: Lockdown at CVDCS wasn't exactly a lockdown, board says

Updated at 12:35 p.m.: Chelmsford Valley District Composite School was in a hold and secure from 9:20 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. due to a student in distress, the Rainbow District School Board has confirmed.

Police said they responded to a call from the school at around 9:40 a.m.

Police originally said the school was under lockdown, but school board said it was a hold and secure instead.

While the school's doors are locked during a hold a secure, classroom activities continue as normal, unlike in a lockdown situation.

Chelmsford Valley District Composite School is no longer under lockdown, Sudbury Police have confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Greater Sudbury Police Service said police responded to a call at the Chelmsford high school at 9:40 a.m. and were still at the scene as of 10:30 a.m.

Police could not confirm the reason for the lockdown.
