Citizen apprehends woman after late-night ride

One woman's joy ride came to an abrupt end when the stolen vehicle she's accused of driving got stuck on a front lawn. According to Greater Sudbury Police, the 22 year-old woman stole a van from a Prine St. residence Tuesday around 3 am.

According to Greater Sudbury Police, the 22 year-old woman stole a van from a Prine St. residence Tuesday around 3 am. The woman allegedly drove the vehicle through a number of yards in the Maple Street and Reginald Street area, destroying fences, plants and hedges.

The van finally came to a halt when it got stuck on a front lawn as one resident moved in to restrain the woman until police arrived.

The woman is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, impaired driving, refusing to provide breath samples and breach of probation.
