A driver from Woodbridge is starting out 2022 without a vehicle for a couple of weeks.

Nipissing West OPP reported today that on Dec. 31 at around 4 p.m., a vehicle clocked at 151 k/h in a posted 100 km/h zone on Highway 69 was pulled over for speeding in Cox Township, in the Sudbury District.

Not only was the driver speeding, OPP said, the person’s licence was suspended. The 35-year-old driver from Woodbridge was charged for racing a motor vehicle and driving while suspended. 

The person’s driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

The accused was released on a provincial summons and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 15 in Sudbury.
