Updated: Hwy. 17 fully reopened after two collisions Monday

Highway 17 was fully reopened between Highway 108 and Walford as of 3:40 p.m. Jan. 6, according to a tweet from the OPP.

Highway 17 has been reopened in both directions between Espanola and Blind River, the MTO site @511ONNortheast said just after 8 a.m.

However, Highway 17 is also now closed in both directions from Serpent River to Walford due to another collision, the same site reports.

A note in case you're planning to travel west on Highway 17 today — the highway is closed between Blind River and Webbwood following a collision.

Police first announced the road closure just before 6 a.m. Monday morning.

The Sudbury Student Services Consortium, which co-ordinates school bus transportation in the area, said some school bus routes are cancelled due to the highway closure. Parents are asked to visit the consortium's website for more information.
