Greater Sudbury Police arrested and charged three individuals on July 18, after being tipped off that a wanted person from Southern Ontario was in the Greater Sudbury area and could be in possession of a firearm.
Members of the GSPS Integrated Crime Team – Intelligence Unit conducted surveillance at a local motel located in Downtown Sudbury.
While conducting surveillance, the officers saw three people enter a vehicle in the parking lot of the motel, one of those being wanted party, 22-year old, Kyle Proulx.
Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the man, detaining the two women who were also in the vehicle at the time of the stop. Inside of the vehicle, officers found a small amount of illicit drugs and a replica hand gun (BB gun designed to look like a semi-automatic handgun).
Based on the interaction with officers and the items located on the individuals and in the vehicle, they have been charged with the following offences:
Angele Proulx, 38-years old from Greater Sudbury
- Obstruct Police
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
Leah Ricard, 19-years old from Stevensville, Ontario
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
Kyle Proulx, 22-years old with No Fixed Address
- Fail to Comply Recognizance of Bail
- Obstruct Police
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
