An elderly male pedestrian has died of his injuries after a collision with a motor vehicle in Chelmsford last night.

Greater Sudbury Police were called out to the scene at around 9 p.m. Tuesday night. The collision occurred on Errington Street at Fitzgerald Street.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital, where he passed away. The man's name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Greater Sudbury Police continue to investigate the incident.

Errington Street in Chelmsford was reopened as of around 4 a.m. this morning after a motor vehicle collision in the area last night.

Greater Sudbury Police sent out a notice at around 11:15 p.m. last night, saying the road was closed at Fitzgerald Street due to the crash.

Police have not released any information about the nature of the collision, but said another press release will be issued later this morning.
