First Nations Medicinal, a marijuana dispensary located on the Wahnapitae First Nation will re-open on Friday, Feb. 2, eight days after Anishinabek Police Service conducted a search warrant at the business, seizing a large quantity of controlled substances.

Three people were arrested following the Jan. 25 raid at the the dispensary where Anishinabek Police Service executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Sudbury.com has reached out to dispensary operator Chadwick Mcgregor for more information, but messages have not been returned.

During the search, officers seized 738 grams of marijuana, $3,218 in cash, 35 grams of shatter (cannabis concentrate), 335 grams of cannabis resin, 289.5 grams of hashish, hundreds of edible cannabis products, along with a taser.

A day after the search was carried out, Insp. Marc Lesage of the Anishinabek Police Service said that none of the suspects had been formally charged, but that charges were coming.

“I don't have an exact dollar figure for what was seized, because it's still being processed," said Lesage.

First Nations Medicinal posted on their Facebook page at around noon on Jan. 30 that the shop would be re-opening this Friday, despite the fact that the matter is still currently under investigation.
