Two Sudbury men face numerous charges after DNA evidence led to their arrests over the weekend. On June 24, a break, enter and theft occurred at the New Sudbury Centre on Lasalle Boulevard.

Two Sudbury men face numerous charges after DNA evidence led to their arrests over the weekend.

On June 24, a break, enter and theft occurred at the New Sudbury Centre on Lasalle Boulevard. While inside the mall, culprits removed items from nine retail outlets. Police estimate more than $25,000 in cash and $25,000 worth of property was stolen during the spree.

The collection of DNA evidence in conjunction with work done at the Centre of Forensic Sciences northern regional laboratory in Sault Ste. Marie resulted in two arrests.

A 24-year-old male faces nine counts of break, enter and theft, three counts of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, 12 counts of breach of probation and 12 counts of breach of recognizance.

Another 24-year-old male faces nine counts of break, enter and theft, three counts of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and 12 counts of breach of recognizance.

The men are being held in custody at the Sudbury District Jail.
