A local doctor has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault, following a seven month investigation by police and the Ontario College of Physicans and Surgeons.
Charged is Dr. Richard Nanka-Bruce, 59, of Sudbury.
The charges stem from complaints lodged by three women. The offences are alleged to have taken place between 1978 and 1990. The female victims ranged in age from their late teens to early thirties at the time the offences are said to have occurred.
Nanka-Bruce was scheduled to have a bail hearing Friday at the Sudbury courthouse. There was no word on whether the hearing took place or if he was released at Northern Life presstime Friday afternoon.
