A driver in Markstay was charged this week after a collision with a school bus.
Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release that officers were dispatched to the scene just after 8 a.m. on March 21. The crash occurred in Markstay at the intersection of Highway 17 and Pioneer Street.
“No injuries had been reported,” OPP said. Only the bus driver and two students were on the bus at the time.
The driver of the motor vehicle, a 46-year-old from Markstay-Warren, was found to be a suspended driver, OPP said, and was charged with following too closely and driving while under suspension.
The OPP would like to remind motorists that when following a school bus, remember to keep a safe distance.
