Rejean Simard, who was also fined $1,500, was originally charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm, but pleaded guilty to the lesser offence of impaired driving Wednesday in relation to an incident on May 30, 2003 in Chelmsford.

Court heard Simard had well over three times the amount of alcohol allowed in Canada to operate a motor vehicle when he hit a couple parked at a red light on Highway 144 in Chelmsford.
