Members of Sudbury family are still in the hospital recovering from their injuries after an explosion at a hunt camp on Manitoulin Island Dec. 6.

According to police, two teens, along with their father and uncle were staying in a small trailer at a hunt camp in a remote area west of Little Current in Howland Township. At 5:30 am, one of the adults attempted to light a propane lantern when an explosion took place in the trailer.

One of the adults managed to phone 911 on his cellphone. The Ontario Provincial Police, as well as the Northeast Manitoulin and the Islands Fire Department responded to the call.

Const. Allan Boyd with the OPP said Ralph Walker, 37, is still recovering at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Barry Walker, 40, is recovering in Little Current General Hospital while Zachariah Walker, 17, is in a Sudbury hospital, where his condition has been upgraded to stable.

Samantha Walker, 15, was treated and released from hospital after the blast.

The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating the explosion.
