Fight in a moving vehicle leads to charges for driver and passenger

On March 12 at 1:15 p.m., members of the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP received a traffic complaint regarding an erratic driver travelling northbound on Highway 69, near Highway 637, Cox Township. 

While en route, officers received further information that two people were fighting inside of the vehicle. 

Shortly thereafter, officers located and stopped the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, the 39-year-old male driver from Lively was charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Assault - Spousal
  • Speeding
  • Drive Motor Vehicle - No Currently Validated Permit
  • Drive Motor Vehicle - No Licence

The passenger, a 33-year-old female from Azilda was charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking

Both accused persons were released by way of an Undertaking and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 17, 2020 in Sudbury.
