An alleged thief is probably kicking himself in a jail cell this morning after being arrested last night for breaking into parked cars in the city’s South End last night.

Very early this morning, Greater Sudbury Police said they received a call about a suspicious person near Muriel Crescent in the South End.

Unfortunately for the alleged thief (but fortunate for the police and potential victims), quite a bit of a snow fell last night, and footprints were clearly visible going from vehicle to vehicle attempting to open vehicle doors.

Given the friendly weather, the man was arrested a short time later on Trailview Drive. He faces a number of charges, including break, enter and threatening; breach of probation; and obstruction.

The man will be in bail court today to answer to the charges.

If you live on in Muriel Cresent to Trailview Drive area in the South End, police suggest you check your vehicles for any missing property and report it to police.
