Members of the Joint Forces Drug Enforcement Unit, consisting of Greater Sudbury Police, OPP and the RCMP, have seized a large quantity of marijuana along with growing equipment at three local residences.
The police executed search warrants at residences on Mederic St. in Hanmer, Cecil St. in Nickel Centre and Wilfred St. in Garson. As a result, five people from the Greater Toronto Area have been arrested.
The police are continuing their investigation and wouldn't provide information on the quantity or street value of the drugs seized as of Friday afternoon.
