In the Wednesday, Feb. 27, edition of Northern Life, the newspaper omitted some information in relation to a Sudbury police officer.

We wrote Const. Dan Kingsley faces a Police Services Act tribunal in relation to an allegation he roughed up another man outside a Wahnapitae tavern.

Kingsley was charged with assault with a weapon, while Const. Jason Katz faced one charge of common assault after a Thunder Bay man, Mike Cloutier, claimed both officers used excessive force during an arrest on Oct. 30, 1999.

Northern Life indicated that following a lengthy investigation by the North Bay OPP, both Kingsley and Katz were charged.

Northern Life failed to mention the charges against Kingsley and Katz were both withdrawn by the Crown attorney's office in a public courtroom last year.

Northern Life sincerely apologizes for the omission.
