Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) members are in the process of responding to a weapons complaint at a residence in the Minnow Lake area, causing a disruption in local traffic.

The complaint stemmed from a residence on Christakos Street and has resulted in the arrest of one individual.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing, with the help the GSPS tactical and K9 units.

A part of Howey Drive will remain closed until the investigation is concluded, from St. Raphael to Somerset Streets.

Police have asked the public to avoid the area and not take any video of the active scene for the safety of officers involved.

A resident of Howey Drive has said that neighbours in the area of Wessex Street and Lonsdale Avenue are being asked by police to lock their doors and stay in their homes.

More details will be released as they are made available.
