Update: One arrested in King Street weapons complaint

King Street in the city’s Flour Mill neighbourhood is closed to vehicles and pedestrians at this hour as officers respond to a weapons complaint.

Updated July 26 at 1:39 p.m.: Greater Sudbury Police have advised that the barricading incident on King Street in the Flour Mill has been resolved.

Police were dispatched to the area between Morin and Kehoe avenues just after 11 a.m. due to a weapons complaint. The individuals involved were holed up in a residential building. 

The area was contained by police while tactical officers and the K-9 unit were on scene attempting to resolve the situation.

At around 1:30 p.m., the people inside the residence — two men and a woman — exited the building. One man was taken into custody. No word on charges as of yet.

The area is now cleared of people and King Street is reopened. Officers remain on scene at the building while awaiting a search warrant.

King Street in the city’s Flour Mill neighbourhood is closed to vehicles and pedestrians at this hour as officers respond to a weapons complaint.

King Street is closed between Morin and Kehoe avenues as officers contain an apartment building where it is believed armed individuals are holed up.

Patrol officers have set up containment of the area while the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and K9 Unit are on scene.
