The Greater Sudbury Police Criminal Investigations Branch is currently investigation a home invasion that happened late Wednesday night.
Around 11 pm a man, disguised with a ski mask and carrying a baseball bat, knocked on the door at a residence on Peter Street in Chelmsford.
Once the occupant answered the door the culprit forced his way in.
The bandit stole the keys for the victim?s vehicle, a portable phone and a purse.
The victim was assaulted but there were no physical injuries.
Police say the robber fled in the victim?s automobile.
Just before 3 am officers on Montpellier Road near the golf course in Chelmsford recovered the vehicle.
It is being held by the authorities for expert examination.
The thief is described as a white male, six feet four inches tall with a medium build, sporting a shaved head or very short haircut.
He had a deep voice and no accent.
