Greater Sudbury Police are investigating an armed robbery this morning after two men stole money and cigarettes from a gas bar on Notre Dame Ave.

Police say two masked men entered the gas bar around 3 am with a sawed-off shotgun, threatening the gas bar attendant and another male patron. The masked men ordered the attendant to put money and cigarettes into a black duffle bag and fled the scene on foot, running eastbound on King St.

Using a K-9 unit, police tracked the suspects to a dead-end portion on Queen St. where it is believed they hopped into a waiting vehicle.

The unknown patron also left the scene before police arrived on scene. Police are asking the man to come forward to answer questions for the on-going investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information on the robbery, or anyone who may have seen a strange vehicle in the Queen and Clinton St. area, to phone Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
