The Sudbury man charged in connection with the shooting at the Park Hotel 10 days ago has been released on bail.

Joseph Hallam, 60, is charged with attempted murder and numerous weapon charges. He was released following a bail hearing Wednesday after pledging a surety of $40,000. Hallam will not have to post any money, but stands to lose $25,000 of his own money and $15,000 pledged by his sister if he breaches any conditions of his bail order.

Hallam was ordered to live with his sister and report every day to Greater Sudbury Police. He can’t leave his residence unless accompanied by the sister or anyone else approved by his probation officer. He must also stay away from the Park Hotel, and stay away from Jason Tessier, 33, the complainant in this matter.

There is a court ban prohibiting publication of any evidence from the bail hearing.
