Man charged with numerous fraud offences

A 33-year-old Azilda man had been charged with numerous fraud offences after a five-month investigation.

A 33-year-old Azilda man had been charged with numerous fraud offences after a five-month investigation.

Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Uniform Division determined that a Hanmer man was being defrauded from June 2007 to January 2008, by an employee. The worker had been stealing company cheques, forging his boss' signature and defrauding the company for more than $12,000.

The man has been charged with 27 counts of each of the following offences: forgery, possession of stolen property, uttering a forged document, fraud under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 18 to answer to these charges.
