A young man with a drug problem was given a break by a veteran judge Wednesday.
Instead of the nine-month sentence proposed by federal Crown prosecutor Robert Topp, Justice Laurence Collins sentenced Craig Hunda, 21, to 100 days in jail on top of two weeks he?s already spent in custody. Court heard Greater Sudbury Police conducted a ?walk through? of a seedy Sudbury hotel the evening of Sept. 8. Inside the men?s washroom, they found Hunda drinking a beer and in possession of just under half a gram of cocaine. Hunda was on a probation order at the time to maintain a nightly curfew, not drink alcohol or consume illicit street drugs.
