Markstay-Warren crash leads to impaired charges

A Fort Erie driver is facing impaired driving charges following a single vehicle crash on Highway 17 in Markstay-Warren on May 19.

Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to the scene on Sunday at around 6 p.m. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, OPP have charged a 52-year-old man from Fort Erie with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs.

The accused was released with a court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on June 6.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
