Mom, baby died in crash

Dorothy Marie Ball Sauve, 34, was with her son, Matthew Alvaro, when she was driving to Orillia to pick up her husband when her vehicle was hit head-on by a Jeep. The Sauve family lived in Oshawa but were originally from Sudbury and have family here. Dorothy's parents are Yvonne and Dan Ball Sr.

OPP have made an arrest in connection with the accident. The 25-year-old driver of the Jeep was charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.

According to The Toronto Sun, police suspect the driver was drinking although blood and breath tests were not done until several hours after the tragedy on Hwy. 12 occured. One of the passengers in the Jeep was also killed while another remains in critical condition in a hospital in Toronto.
