Next week is Police Week 2007

The Greater Sudbury Police Service kicks off Police Week 2007 between May 13th and 19th. This year's theme is “Safer communities for a stronger Ontario.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service kicks off Police Week 2007 between May 13th and 19th. This year's theme is “Safer communities for a stronger Ontario.”

The event will take place at the Southridge Mall where displays will be set up from Tuesday May 15 to Thursday May 17. The opening ceremonies will be held on Tuesday May 15 at 11:00 am in the Southridge Mall's center court.

The event schedule is as follows:

TUESDAY, MAY 15

1:00 p.m. K-9 & Tactical Team demonstration
2:00 p.m. Policing in Ontario " A Future for You" presentation
3:00 p.m. ATV Safety presentation
6:00 p.m. Drive Wise presentation (A safe driving presentation
geared 50 +)
7:30 p.m. Fraud presentations

WEDNESDAY, MAY 16

10:00 a.m. Drive Wise presentation (A safe driving presentation
geared 50 +)
1:00 p.m. Bear Wise Presentation
2:00 p.m. Forensics Presentation
3:00 p.m. St John's Ambulance-First Aid Health & Safety
6:00 p.m. Policing in Ontario " A Future for You" presentation
6:30 p.m. Street Racing presentation
7:00 p.m. Cyberproofing Our Children
8:00 p.m. Bear Wise Presentation

THURSDAY, MAY 17
10:00 a.m. CN Police - Railway Safety
1:00 p.m. Crimeproofing your home
2:00 p.m. Alzheimer's Society Presentation
3:00 p.m. Fire Safety Plan for your home
6:00 p.m. Bullying
7:00 p.m. Street Racing presentation

Everyone is welcome. The displays will have information from the police and community partners. Presentation and demonstrations geared to all ages are scheduled over the three-day event.
